Joe Biden Wins

In talking with some of my Republican friends many were just hoping that in the vice presidential debate Palin would be able to string a group of coherent words together. After the debate I called a few of them to get their views on Palin’s performance. They were all relieved that she did not make a fool of herself.

Is this what our expectations for the second highest office in the world have come to? If regurgitating talking points is all that you feel is important then I agree she did fine. But if you were looking for someone to show they could effectively step into the position of President if called upon then Joe Biden clearly represented that person.

Now don't get me wrong when you are given two minutes to express yourself many times the only option is to provide mini sound-bites. The problem I have from Governor Palin is that simply I have no idea who she is and due to McCain's age and health there is a reasonable possibility that if he was elected he might not finish his term in office.

We can argue about the definition of experience. We have had Presidents with a great deal of "Washington experience" but lacked other equally important qualities: character, vision, connectability, and depth. This Nation is going through difficult times be it our economy, the war against terrorism, domestic instability, a health care crisis, or our standing in the world. Over the course of this election I have had the opportunity to get to know Obama, McCain and Biden but Sarah Palin is still a mystery to me, and mainly because the people who handle her are afraid to let her speak her mind. I was honestly open to McCain's choice for VP, but quickly became disillusioned by what I saw was her limited skills. I was willing to give Palin an opportunity to rebuff those concerns of mine but she either could not or was not allowed to do so.

That was the last debate for the vice presidential candidates and by what I could gather the last time Palin will give an interview. Hence we are forced to make a decision on a person of whom we know very little! Palin had a chance to connect to the American public and she failed to do so.

I have watched Senator Obama stand his ground time after time. He has laid out a clear direction that he wants to take this Nation. He has shown vision, leadership and wisdom. I have never been more comfortable with a Presidential nominee. Come November 4th I like millions of other concerned citizens will cast my vote for the team that can help lead us through these difficult times and that is the Obama/Biden ticket.

About to go to work but had to check and see what you thought about the debate last night. You are right but it seem to me that Biden was a bit dry. Palin didn't help or hurt McCain.

Palin did better than expected in the debate. Biden was too harsh and didn’t understand the issues.

Palin nailed the debate!!! Palin gets A++++, Biden was too old and very boring!! He did an extremely poor performance for his experience. Big win for Palin!

15,000 jobs lost this month. Dear God how can anyone even think of voting for a republican?

Oh 9:31 just for the record McCain is older than Biden.

At the beginning of the debate Palin asked Biden if she could call him Joe. So it looked like she was trying to be friendly. Biden said she could. But it was only so she could set him up with that cheap line, "Say it ain't so Joe." What a low life. She's not even sincere!
