Future Leaders

Do you know middle school and high school students who would like an infusion of Leadership Academy training? Here’s their chance.

The Leadership Academy and Hutchison School’s Center for Excellence Leadership are partnering to host a middle and upper school Student Leadership Summit on February 6, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Labry Hall on the Hutchison Campus (1740 Ridgeway, Memphis, TN 38119; click here to map.) The seminars, conducted by Leadership Academy facilitators, will include hands-on learning activities and guest speakers. Topics will include nuts and bolts of leadership for middle school students like ‘How to Run a Meeting’ and ‘How to Build Consensus’ but also explore leadership concepts like ‘Leading by Example’. For upper school students topics will include seminars on ‘Developing Others’ and ‘Social Awareness’.

Students from Memphis City, Shelby County Schools, or Independent school are welcome to attend. The cost is $25 for the day and includes all supplies, snacks, and lunch. To register or for more information, please contact Amanda Killen, Center for Excellence Coordinator, at 507-2460 or akillen@hutchisonschool.org.
