Race & Economics will focus on issues related to the disparities between whites and blacks, and other minority groups as it pertains to the various economic and business development opportunities available in Memphis & Shelby County.

Panelists will also discuss and examine how issues relating to race & economics may play a direct role in determining race relations in our community.

Confirmed panelists include: Dr. Dale Bails, Dean of the School of Business, and economics professor at Christian Brothers University; Dr. Jerome Blakemore, Director of the Division of Social Work and associate professor of sociology at the University of Memphis; and Roby Williams, President/CEO of the Black Business Association of Memphis. Daphene McFerren, Director of the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis will moderate the discussion.
