The Truth is Timeless

Charlie Chaplin gave this amazing speech nearly 60 years ago in "The Great Dictator." Sadly we still need to hear these words.

There are a lot of good people in Memphis. It's just we are silent. We need to work together more.

There is no reason Memphis has to be the way it is.

People say todays time is bad, but it has alway been bad. I think things are better. It's just the news is reporting more of it. I stop looking at local news. It's all bad. How does it help to tell me a corner grocery store was held up last night if they caught the guys who did it? They just make you scared.

I was one of Mr. Milton poll workers. Catchings from the start was telling lies about him and attacking him. I want everyone to know that when I told Mr. Milton what Catchings was doing and asked it we could start doing the same he said no we will run a honest and fair race or no race at all. He really said that! I am not sorry Catchings lost. He would have not be a good person.

Mr. Milton never spoke bad about any of the other people running against him. Im glad you have this site Mr. Milton because people need to know you. I know you probable don't want to even think about running for office again but you should. Once people find out more about you they will be in your corner like the rest of us.

First let me thank you for working the polls for me. I also appreciate your concerns, but the election is over. I have now moved on and I suggest you do the same.

I hold no ill feeling toward anyone. In a campaign things can sometime get out of hand and people can say things they should not.

We are all adults and the most important thing now is to work together to make Memphis the great City we all know it is.
